Homemade Potato Stamps are a fun craft activity to do with your kids. They are cheap, simple and a lot of fun.

Instructions for Potato Stamp Craft

To start this craft idea, find a large potato, that would be big enough to make a stamp out of. Cut the potato in half and you can use both sides to make a stamp.

Homemade Potatoe Stamp Kids Craft There are a couple ways to make the stamp. You may either use a small cookie cutter or draw it on to make the stamp.
To use the cookie cutter, press it down into the potato until it is a 1/4 inch down or so.
Take a knife and cut around the cookie cutter about a 1/4 inch down.
Pull the cookie cutter off and you have a fun little stamp.
Homemade Potatoe Stamp Kids Craft You may also draw a picture onto your potato to make this stamp craft.
Draw the picture you would like.

Homemade Potatoe Stamp Kids Craft Then take a knife and cut down around the shape drawn about 1/4 inch.
Cut in from the side of the potato until you hit the side of the shape drawn, and discard the potato around the shape.
When you are done the shape should be sticking up 1/4 inch or so.

Homemade Potatoe Stamp Kids CraftWhen finished with your potato stamp craft you may use paint and paint the color onto your stamp with a cotton swab or a paint brush.
Then use your homemade stamp to stamp on whatever you wish.
You may also use ink with your potato stamp.
